2012- 100 Mile House will now be able to host soccer and softball tournaments at the community’s new outdoor recreation facilities. In 2006, the District of 100 Mile House constructed a new recreation facility that is capable of hosting youth and adult teams from throughout the Cariboo and across the province to compete and enjoy the beauty of 100 Mile House.
The project consisted of developing eight hectares of land into two soccer fields, two slow pitch diamonds, and a parking lot  – all aspects of this project have been constructed to a high recreation standard. This project is just be the beginning of 100 Mile House’s vision for a diverse community recreation facility that will include a future track, skateboard park, and other facilities designed and developed to meet the recreational interests of the residents.
"The Soccer Association created a vision of a Soccer Park to include the development of quality tournament size fields and a facility. The new fields opened in May 2010 to kick off our local soccer season, welcoming a league tournament and receiving the announcement that we will host the BC "B" Cup Provincial Tournament in July 2011. 100 Mile House is now a destination to the many travelling soccer teams throughout BC and beyond."

With over 600 athletes playing soccer and over 100 playing softball, the new fields have created an opportunity to host teams from around the region for exhibition games or for weekend tournaments.
The economic impacts of sports fields are a proven benefit to small businesses such as hotels, motels, restaurants, gas bars, pharmacy, sports bars, and sporting goods shops. The new sports fields have already generated over $200,000 in annual revenues to the local economy.
