THE RAPID RESPONSE INTAKE IS NOW CLOSED

LEVERAGING THE UNIVERSAL BROADBAND FUND

The Connecting British Columbia program is now available for applicants who wish to leverage provincial funding in support of the federal Universal Broadband Fund (UBF). Two new intakes for provincial funding have been developed. These intakes minimize duplication in the application process and allows the use of the UBF application for most of the documentation required to support the funding request from the Connecting British Columbia program.

The new Connecting British Columbia program intakes align with the Universal Broadband Fund’s Rapid Response stream and Core funding stream for multi year projects

RAPID RESPONSE INTAKE

  • This intake is designed to leverage the Universal Broadband Fund: Rapid Response Stream (UBF:RRS) to address immediate connectivity needs and enable service providers to enhance or expand connectivity in a short timeframe. Projects with co-funding from Connecting British Columbia program must be completed by October 31, 2021.
  • Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until January 15, 2021 and will be reviewed and accepted as they are received. Applicants are encouraged to apply early.
  • Projects can be co-funded to a maximum of 90% of eligible costs. The provincial contribution can be up to $5,000,000 and up to 50% share of eligible project costs.
  • Customer-premise equipment and direct satellite capacity eligible under UBF:RRS are not eligible costs under this intake of the Connecting British Columbia program.
