VANCOUVER, B.C. (November 17, 2015)
The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FWE) and Northern Development have partnered to launch the inaugural FWE Mentor Program North, which will provide business mentors to 25 women entrepreneurs from across Northern B.C. Women who are running their own businesses – and are driven to gain valuable insight and business expertise from successful mentors – are eligible to apply now.
The program is open to female entrepreneurs located in B.C.’s Northwest, Northeast, Cariboo Chilcotin and Fraser Fort George regions. The partnership between FWE and Northern Development means mentees will only need to pay a total of $100 for 12 months of one-on-one mentorship beginning January 2016.
“After 14 years of running the FWE Mentor Program in Vancouver, we have seen the impact that mentorship has had in small businesses,” shares Lisa Niemetscheck, General Manager, FWE. “Mentorship is a critical component of any company’s success and our hope is that Mentor Program North will reach women who have been thinking about and searching for a mentor but were unable to find the right support.”
“Providing programs to strengthen the economy and build a stronger North are at the core of Northern Development,” said CEO, Janine North. “Partnering with FWE to offer mentorship to women entrepreneurs across the region will support business development, innovation and growth. We encourage women to apply and are excited to hear about the impact that these relationships will have on the businesses.”
Deadline to apply is November 30th, 2015. For more information on the program and to apply as a Mentee or Mentor, please visit fwe.ca/mentor-program-north.
